These are my photos for the Paul Strand assignment in my photography class. I tried to take interesting pictures of a subject with good shadowing in the picture then turn it black and white.
This is a photo I went to Rockport to take of the Motif #1 building on bearskin neck. As you may be able to tell from the shadow on the building the sun is just setting and shining it's last rays onto this building.I took this picture at the skate park while it was a sunny day because I thought the shadowing of the skateboard was a cool design.
This is a picture of a water spicket with two drops of water falling in midair. You can see the shadow of the spicket as well.
These are amazing, A+++ if there was such a grade. Your Motif #1 may be the best photograph I've ever seen of that building. That is really hard to do with something that has been photographed and painted so often.
ReplyDeleteYour skateboard is also a new perspective on a common subject, and the composition and the shadows makes this photograph better than most.
The arrangement of the objects in your last photograph works because of the placement of shadows, and the sliver of grey on the left side of the building where the building stops... and of course catching a drop of water! Priceless!
