Paul Strand pre-assignment post

Paul Strand was born October 16, 1890 in New York City and died March 31 1976. He was an american photographer and filmmaker who helped make photography as an art form like it is today. He has pictures covering a number of Genres in America, Europe, and even Africa. One of his most famous pictures was "Wall Street" as seen below. Strand married Rebecca Salsbury, a painter, in 1922 but the he divorced her and married Virginia Stevens in 1935. The later divorced in 1949 and he then married Hasel Kingsbury who was his fellow photographer. He has very unique photographs in black and white and his photo seem to capture a big idea rather than just one little detail and he always has good shadowing in his photos. When taking pictures to try to copy his style of photography one needs to have good shadowing in the pictures and rather than focusing on one detail try to capture a picture with a broad topic in it.
